Yovanis González: “Con mis fotos trato de inmortalizar sueños, momentos, historias”
Detrás de cada fotografía hay una historia que contar. La captura de una imagen a través del lente es un momento íntimo y de complicidad entre el artista, la cámara y esa imagen que se detiene el tiempo.
Así define Yovanis González su pasión, la fotografía. Este talentoso fotógrafo nacido en Cuba, ha llevado su arte a importantes escenarios y ha ganado premios, entre ellos el Primero en la Categoría FineArt en Inglaterra, gracias a un trabajo altamente técnico que le ha llevado a ocupar un espacio entre los grandes fotógrafos contemporáneos.
Su arte ha llegado a importantes galerías de Escocia, México, España y La Habana. Su próxima exposición colectiva será The Arts at Polk State College, del 17 de enero al 21 de febrero, donde expondrán excelentes artistas del centro de Florida.
¿Cómo descubriste tu pasión por la fotografía?
Todo comenzó hace unos 9 años, cuando tuve la oportunidad de tener por primera vez una cámara en mis manos, entonces me di cuenta que era lo que me apasionaba. Comencé a estudiar y tomar fotos cambió mi estilo de vida y mi manera de pensar. Capturando la sensibilidad de las cosas y de las personas, empecé a descubrir un mundo de luz que antes pasaba desapercibido.
Hemos visto tu arte centrado en la figura humana, pero también muestras tu inspiración en paisajes y objetos. ¿Cuáles elementos te motivan más?
La figura humana siempre ha sido un misterio para mí, porque es muy impredecible descifrar al ser humano en su totalidad. A través del lente siento esa conexión con el fotografiado y en un simple clic queda plasmada esa sensibilidad o fortaleza, y la debilidad e incomprensión. En la fotografía de paisajes trato de llevar mi estilo de luces y sombras, dándole un misterio y un concepto. Con mis fotos trato de inmortalizar sueños, paisajes, momentos, historia de vida de las personas.
¿Cuál puedes decir que es tu obra más hermosa?
Elegir una obra en específico sería entrar en contradicción conmigo mismo, aunque sí hay una serie que me ha tocado en lo más profundo y que todavía no expongo, se titula EN BÚSQUEDA, con la que abordo el tema de la migración.
¿Cuáles son tus desafíos?
Tengo muchos retos personales, creo que todavía me falta demasiado por descubrir; en este hermoso mundo del arte fotográfico, me considero un eterno aprendiz.

Behind every photograph, there is a story to tell. Capturing an image through the lens is an intimate and complicity-filled moment between the artist, the camera, and that image that stops time.
This is how Yovanis González defines his passion: photography. This talented photographer, born in Cuba, has taken his art to important venues and has won awards, including First Place in the FineArt Category in England, thanks to highly technical work that has earned him a place among great contemporary photographers.
His art has had a place in significant galleries in Scotland, Mexico, Spain, and Havana. His next group exhibition will be at The Arts at Polk State College, from January 17 to February 21, featuring excellent artists from Central Florida.
How did you discover your passion for photography?
It all began about 9 years ago when I had the opportunity to hold a camera in my hands for the first time, it became my passion. I started studying photography and it changed my lifestyle, my way of thinking. By capturing the sensitivity of objects and people, I began to discover a world of light that had previously gone unnoticed.
We have seen your art focused on the human figure, but you also show your inspiration in landscapes and objects. What elements motivate you the most?
The human figure has always been a mystery to me because it is very unpredictable to decipher a human being in their entirety. Through the lens, I feel that connection with the photographed subject, and in a simple click, that sensitivity or strength, as well as weakness and misunderstanding, is captured. In landscape photography, I try to bring my style of light and shadows, giving it a sense of mystery and concept. With my photos, I aim to immortalize dreams, landscapes, moments, and the life stories of people.
What would you say is your most beautiful work?
Choosing a specific piece would be contradictory for me, although there is a series that has touched me deeply and that I have not yet exhibited; it is titled IN SEARCH, which addresses the theme of migration.
What are your challenges?
I have many personal challenges; I believe I still have a lot to discover in this beautiful world of photographic art. I consider myself an eternal learner.
