Laura Fernández gana la Presidencia de Costa Rica
La politóloga de derecha Laura Fernández, de 39 años de edad, ganó la Presidencia de Costa Rica en primera ronda con un contundente triunfo, tras una campaña en la que se presentó como la “heredera” del actual presidente Rodrigo Chaves y en la que prometió mano dura contra el crimen y la inseguridad, las principales preocupaciones de la población, según reseña Noticias DW.
Con el 94 % de las mesas escrutadas, la candidata del Partido Pueblo Soberano obtenía el 48,3 %, con amplio margen sobre el segundo lugar, ocupado por el candidato del socialdemócrata Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN), Álvaro Ramos, con el 33,3 %.

Laura Fernández Wins the Presidency of Costa Rica
Right-wing political scientist Laura Fernández, 39 years old, won the presidency of Costa Rica in the first round with a decisive victory, after a campaign in which she presented herself as the “heir” to current president Rodrigo Chaves and promised a tough stance against crime and insecurity, the main concerns of the population, according to DW News.
With 94% of polling stations counted, the candidate from the People’s Sovereign Party obtained 48.3% of the vote, with a wide margin over second place, held by the candidate of the social democratic National Liberation Party (PLN), Álvaro Ramos, who received 33.3%.
